Review coming soon. Die haters!

Update:

This Sivaji review is long due. :) Was too busy slacking..

The purpose of a good review is to help you answer the question of whether you should watch the movie or not. I'll cut right to the chase. I'm going to explain this graphically with the help of visual aids in order to enable you to make a wise and informed decision.
What you see below are the US and UK box office reports for the weekend of jun 15. It's pretty self explanatory.

A Fantastic four sequel?? Really? The first one sucked so bad.. what made them think we wanted more???

Ocean's thirteen
Pirates of the Caribbean
Hostel Part II
Spiderman3

The people that like any of the above movies automatically forfeit the right to complain about story, screenplay or plotholes in Sivaji. You're going to believe that a man who gets bitten by a radioactive spider can shoot webs from his hands and swing around tall buildings but not the swoosh swoosh sound when Rajini says punch dialogue?
Why the double standard? One will do just fine thank you.

Mr.Brooks has Kevin Costner in it.
Nancy Drew? Nah. Rent it.
Surf's up is another animated film about.. Penguins. Haven't we had enough already?

I'll watch anything in the Shrek universe.
Knocked up is funny but its rated R, for a good reason. Not exactly a date movie or family movie.

Vacancy suffers from the same problem as Sivaji. A good first half and build up but the final act fails to please. Luke Wilson can act and does an okay job but hey why are we comparing Luke to the Rajini?

Anyways, the other movies on the chart are, for reasons beyond the scope of this review, um, just avoidable.

So there you have it. Sivaji emerges as the movie of the week and the undisputable winner in the US & the UK charts.

What was that? You're in India? Just shut up and bow down to the greatness of Rajini. All your base are belong to Sivaji.

Okay seriously, this is neither Rajini's best nor Shankar's. The movie is a teensy bit over the top but kinda delivers to its fanbase. There's good stuff that strays away from standard Rajini formula trying to set it apart and there's ham, cheese and corn bringing down the film to extremely mediocre levels. The villain doesn't give you chills. The script is a tad stale.
I guess you can forgive all that as an off day at the Shankar and Rajini kitchen since you had a great evening at the restaurant and thats what counts.

Sivaji - Worth your time if you're interested in Rajini or Tamil cinema in general. Others, I'm not too sure.
