I changed jobs, watched King Kong and my bike had a flat tyre.. These are the only interesting things that happened in over 2 months? Clearly, I lead a very uneventful life..

I'm gonna try my hand at fiction now.

It could happen to you.

My bike had a flat tyre..
And its soo damn heavy to wheel it all the way to a puncture shop especially when the rear tyre is flat. What sucks even more is when all nearby puncture shops are closed for Bakrid.

We all take the air pressure in our bikes or for that matter even cars for granted.
There's really nothing much you can do if you're stuck with a flat tyre, in the middle of nowhere and no puncture shop in sight. Make it 11pm and add a first date to the picture.
No, that didn't happen to me. It was day and I was alone. Lets just get with the scenario okay??(No spare tyre, No mechanic in sight, Cellphone out of range)

So its the dead of the night, Nowhere Nagar, your bike/car wont budge, you dont want to force it run on a flat tyre at the risk of injuring you, your bike, your gf or oncoming traffic(not necessarily in that particular order )

so What the hell CAN you do?

1. Park the bike/car somewhere, take an auto and reach home? Sleep peacefully wondering what horrors befall your bike while you're all snuggled up in bed..

2. Pack your girlfriend in an auto and wheel the bike home 10kilometres in the dark?

3. Hitchhike a ride in a lorry for all three of you.. man, woman and bike?

There are more options, but I'm sure all of them sound scary, painstaking, timeconsuming, expensive...

Take my advice:
Fill air in your tyres weekly. Chances of a puncture are more likely in a tyre with low air pressure.
Remove sharp objects, pebbles, nails, stapler pins, pixies, etc stuck in your tyre treads whenever possible.
Replace the tube if you feel that your current tube has had its share of wear and tear.
Its not expensive when you think of the mental trauma you could experience in a situation, an example of which is described above. There are many more horrible everyday scenarios. A flat tyre on the way to work, college, an important job interview, exam, movie, party ..and the list goes on.
Get your tyres checked today!

Oh, and what did I do? I wheeled my bike to a petrol bunk which fortunately had a makeshift puncture fixing guy. Gotta love these multipurpose petrol bunks- ATMs, supermarkets, Coffeeshops .. they have it all! :)
